And she’s not the only one. The dull and seemingly peaceful town of Wolf’s Point has its own all-female werewolf pack and Becca is about to become its newest member. But it’s not all midnight meetings at the Women’s Club, monthly runs through the woods and keeping the town safe. 10 reviews for Silver Moon

  1. Queen of Swords

Excerpt from review by Wallace Rinkelhaus:
In Lundoff’s skilled hands both the familiar coming out story and the story of falling in love, becomes a sometimes dark, sometimes light, fantasy of good vs. evil, of werewolves who know themselves fighting those who can’t accept themselves. That the werewolves are middle-aged menopausal women, and not the proverbial beautiful young heroines, is one of the novel’s strengths. The beauty and grace of maturity are recognized for what it is. As a young woman deputy tells Becca, “To be one of the guardian grandmothers, to protect the land and the people. It’s a great honor, you know. Not many are called.”

  2. Queen of Swords

Excerpt from review by Carol March:
Coming of age at midlife ought to be a new genre, so many women are doing it. Highly recommended.

  3. Queen of Swords

    Rainbow Book Reviews
Excerpt: The premise behind this book is a unique one—menopause that brings on a shape shift to werewolf for various women in the small town of Wolf’s Point. It was a concept that amused me in principle, and I’m happy to report that Lundoff’s book contains much humor as well as plenty of action and intrigue.

  4. Queen of Swords

Rainbow Awards (Silver Moon won second place in the Lesbian Fantasy category and 6th for Best Lesbian Book): “his story is so refreshing. Nothing was what I was expecting to be and to be truly surprised this days by a book is probably the hardest thing! I am a fan. Plot, setting, characters: everything was fresh and really new. Nothing sounded like something already read even if fantasy, ironically usually, don’t have much space to be really creative and inventive: this book was both. The writing style added to my enjoyment of the book. Job well done for sure!”

  5. Queen of Swords

“Did I mention an entire pack of middle-aged werewolves? That’s pretty fucking awesome.” Gretchen, The Fandomentals. Read full review here.

  6. Queen of Swords

Author Heather Rose Jones says, “Silver Moon is a funny, thoughtful, suspenseful look at an older woman facing The Change. Except for most women, “the change” doesn’t include becoming a werewolf.” Read the rest of the review here at The Lesbian Review.

  7. Queen of Swords

Phoebe’s Randoms says “Catherine Lundoff has hit on an amazing and true premise for Silver Moon, the first in the “Wolves of Wolf’s Point” series. Turn women into obvious superheroes just as they hit their prime.” Read the rest of the review here.

  8. Queen of Swords

Jerry Wheeler at Out in Print says: “Menopausal lesbian werewolves? Seriously? You bet. Nothing serves to re-energize a tired genre than a swift kick up the ass, which is what two-time Goldie winner Catherine Lundoff delivers to lycanthropes in Silver Moon, a nifty page turner that empowers as well as entertains.”

  9. Queen of Swords

One of our most beloved books and a best seller!

Run Along the Shelves Book Blog says: ” Overall I really enjoyed this story’s approach and refreshing angle on a legend too often dominated by man pain. Well worth your time and I’ll be looking at the sequel soon!” Read the entire review here.
